It looks like this will be another get-shit-done weekend. Unfortunately, it’s gray and dismal and weather-alert windy outside which is making us feel like not doing anything but sit on the couch and watch bad TV. We still have yet to hang up our lovely Starving Artists’ paintings and we need to stop by Home Depot to pick up some more knobs for our cabinets since we bought all that they had last weekend.
The other day we received a book of Japanese baby names from my mom. Such good timing since Jay has become too comfortable calling the baby Ichiban (which for those that don’t know means ‘number one’ as well as being the name of our favorite ramen).
I’ve also been spazzing out about all that we need to get done in the next 16 (give or take) weeks until the baby makes his appearance. We still need to pick out furniture that we actually like, although I think it would help if we could decide if we want the convertible crib or the traditional one. We need to register (and picking a place to register would make that easier). We need to clean up / organize the house. Right now it is in a weird transitional stage which means we have shit everywhere as we try to decide what to do with things and where their new, more practical home should be. For the most part, everything in our house has a home… but that doesn’t mean it’s a good home.
At least the cramping has stopped. Jay kept on saying that it was probably a growth spurt, but it sure as hell didn’t feel like that. Then yesterday it started making the transition from period-pain to growth spurt pain and I heard a lot of I-told-you-so’s. As long as there wasn’t blood coming out of my vagina, I was happy.
Now we’re off to get some chores done.
